QUIET BY DESIGN · PLAIN ANSWERS

Is there a stretching app without ads?

Yes. Pause shows no ads, sends no marketing notifications and has no sponsored content. The guides are written rather than narrated video, and routines are bundled with the app, so there is nothing to buffer and nothing to interrupt a break.

How Pause is paid for

Pause is paid for by the Pause Plus subscription, not by advertising. That is the whole business model, and it is why the app can stay quiet.

No video, no narrator

Two of the most common complaints about stretching apps are “the videos won’t load” and “the robot voice.” Pause uses written three-step guides with a companion illustration and a gentle breathing orb for the breathing practices. Reduce Motion in iOS stops any decorative movement while the text and timers stay usable.

Notifications only when you ask

The only notifications Pause sends are the workday reminders you set up yourself, plus an optional quiet completion cue after a walking step. There are no promotional pushes.

Common questions

Does the free version show ads?

No. There is no ad-supported tier. The free break and Pause Plus are the same app with no advertising in either.

Does Pause work offline?

Yes. Routines are bundled with the app and subscription access is cached, so a break works on a plane or in a basement meeting room.
