AT YOUR DESK · PLAIN ANSWERS

Can I stretch at my desk with no mat, blocks or floor space?

Yes. Every movement in Pause is designed for a stable chair and the space around it: no mat, no blocks or straps, no floor work and no change of clothes. Standing movements always have a seated alternative, so a small office, a shared desk or a crowded train of meetings is enough.

What you actually need

A solid chair that does not roll, enough room to move your arms, and a wall or a stable support for the optional standing movements. That is the whole list. Pause deliberately leaves out floor work, jumping, deep lunges, chair dips and anything that loads a wheeled chair.

Seated all the way through

The side-of-neck stretch, the across-the-chest stretch, the chest opener, the wrist stretches, shoulder rolls and the seated leg stretch are all done in your chair. If you choose seated only, Pause keeps you there.

Why reviews of other apps ask for this

A steady stream of one-star reviews says “every class needs blocks” or “I was looking for chair stretches and there are none.” Pause was scoped for a desk from the beginning, so the answer to “what do I need” is always the chair you are already sitting in.

Common questions

Can I do the whole routine without standing up?

Yes. Choose seated options and the routine stays in the chair.

Do I need to change shoes or clothes?

No. The movements are chosen to be office-clothing friendly and quiet.

Is a wheeled office chair OK?

Lock it or use a chair that does not roll. A chair that moves under you is the one piece of equipment Pause asks you to avoid.
